We work in close partnership with Barkston Ash RC Primary School collaborating on joint training and other events, we share information where necessary and school make visits to nursery to establish links with children transitioning to school.

Barchester Nursing Home

The nursery makes regular visits to the nursing home with children to carry out joint activities such as crafts, singing, teddy bear picnics, sports day and carol concert.

Forest Schools

We regularly visit a local woods to give children the opportunity to learn in an "outdoor classroom" providing the opportunity to explore and discover the natural world.

Stockbridge Technology Centre

STC ensures continued development for the horticultural industry. For over 12 years the nursery has taken children in their last term before starting school to be part of the 'big harvest'. The aim is to get children interested in growing their own produce. On the day children pick a variety of fruit and vegetables to bring home.

Lotherton Hall

We took the children last December to take part in the 12 days of Christmas Woodland Walk. This was a magical walk with twinkling lit paths, enchanting installations and interactive stations for the children to enjoy.

We intend to visit more regularly for themed activities.

Play Base is our before and after school club. We are a friendly club offering out of school care for children aged 3 – 11 years of age. The club is available to children who attend Barkston Ash Nursery school and Barkston Ash School.

Barkston Ash Parish Council

The Parish Council is working hard on behalf of the community to make Barkston Ash a better place to live, this includes organising the grass cutting of all the verges through the village, campaigning to make our roads safer by reducing the speed through the village, keeping villagers updated with information on HS2 and much more...

Barkston Ash Village Hall


The village hall is a community building managed by a committee. It offers ample space for private party and function hire; there is also a small enclosed outdoor area that can be used.
